Los Medanos College Art Students Presented with Annual CAA Student Scholarship Awards

On May 11th, CAA Board members Catherine Hensiek and Sharon Petersen presented the annual CAA Student Scholarship Awards to art students Ileana Garcia and Alexandra Hernandez. These cash awards are funded through donations to CAA, and will help these talented young women continue their studies at Los Medanos College next semester.

The recipients expressed their gratitude, both for the scholarship and for what it means to their family members too. “My parents sacrifice so much to help make my dream of graduating one day a reality. Thank you CAA for helping me get one step closer,” said Garcia.

“Rarely do we get to see how our philanthropic efforts pay off,” said our President, Catherine. “This day filled my heart with pride and gratitude for the efforts our members make to give these scholarships, and also for the mini grants for our local teachers to support art in their classroom.”
